Stop the Tax Lie

I keep hearing the Republican talking point, “Obama will raise your taxes.” Whenever John McCain says Obama will raise your taxes, what he means is, “Obama will raise my taxes,” because unless you are making more than $603,000 a year, your taxes aren’t going up!

Unfortunately, I don’t fall into that bracket, but if I did, I would be embarrassed to complain about paying more. Has anyone noticed the massive debt incurred under this administration.

If you dig deeper, you will also find that John McCain wants to tax employer-provided health insurance. Which is a back door way to raise the taxes of the average American family by more than $1,323.

The truth of the matter is that none of this will matter to the next President, as they will be hamstrung by the collapsing economy and the legacy of one of the most massive buildups of government and government spending in the history of the country over the last 8 years.

Random Thoughts From an Ordinary Person: Small business owner & mother in Chicago suburb

Maybe it is time to put Mother somewhere — before she alienates all her Republican clients. I know how to stay quiet, stay cool, but as soon as they start the trash talk I just cannot help myself. Today two of them were commenting on how the economy will go in the dumpster if Obama wins, how he is going to raise everyone’s taxes how we will land up in a series of future wars.What!!!!!! I should just act like the hired help and not bring up some facts? Okay, the trouble is that I am the hired help. Then they gush about the amazing Sarah Palin. Please !!!! I am not to mention the double dipping with the 300 days of per diem. They know nothing, they only watch Fox News and that group is all about the lipstick on a pig. But I did not retell McCain’s joke about Chelsea. There is no comparison between a coloquism and crude joke. One that had nothing to do with one woman but directly meant for another woman. God, I hope I do not run in to Keith Olbermann because the two of us might reach critical mass.
